Any Bird Watchers Out There?

This is just a really quick head’s up – and I apologize now for not thinking of doing this earlier in the spring.  Cornell University Ornithology Lab has a website – allaboutbirds.org – which is full of useful bird information.  It also hosts a few live webcams – one trained on the nest of a pair of redtailed hawks, two trained on the nest of a pair of great blue herons, and one trained on the nest of an eastern bluebird (this last isn’t actually a Cornell cam – it’s a private individual downstate who is allowing Cornell access).  I’ve spent some time over the past several weeks watching with great interest as the eggs were carefully tended, then the chicks hatched, and were fed, and now as the chicks are growing.  If you like watching birds – and a good high-speed internet connection would also be useful – by all means check out this site.
